Here are the announcements for today, December 9th:
1 - FYI will host their dance club with Ms. Mary in the cafeteria from 4-5 pm.
2- Ms. Paola will also host boys' group in room C12 at the same time; 4-5pm.
3- SYRUX, the 2025–26 Financial Aid Form is Now Available for post-secondary planning. This means we can finally help you apply to get FREE MONEY for college. As usual, support will continue to take place in Room 302 during the 9th Period (AT 2:23pm) to 6:00pm. You need to report to Room 302 to complete the corresponding financial aid forms and/or to finish submitting your college applications. We will continue doing this alphabetically by last name. Please follow specific dates and instructions on Google Classroom and WhatsApp to know when you are expected to show up based on the day your last name is scheduled. Students whose last name starts with the letters P through R will continue TODAY! Don’t forget: Time is of the essence! THE FIRST 100 STUDENTS WHO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE BOTH THE COLLEGE APPLICATIONS AND FINANCIAL AID FORMS WILL RECEIVE A SPECIAL GIFT.
4- The last senior dues payment of $100 is due Friday, December 20th . If you haven’t already done so make your payments with Ms. Bruno in room 112b ASAP!
5- Seniors will host a Christmas pajamas day and dinner on Thursday, December 19th! Participants will be charged $3 upon entry.
There will be a vision screening event today, Monday, December 9th, for all GLHS students during PE classes. GLHS Parent(s)/guardian(s) who do not wish their child to participate must return the opt-out letter to the school, otherwise, all current student will be screened for vision by the Hellen Keller Institute. Students who are not scheduled for PE and/or miss the screening may participate on Tuesday, December 10th, during their lunch period.

The Boys Basketball Game today is cancelled. City College Academy of the Arts already forfeited the game and counts as a win to our Generals. Regular practice for the basketball team will resume at 4:00PM today.
Today, December 2nd, is Short Monday. All classes will be shortened periods starting at 8:00 AM; students with 10th period will be dismissed at 1:30 PM. All after-school activities are canceled, all Teachers and Staff will be attending Faculty Conference and Grade/Department Department meetings until 2:50 PM. Please see the schedule below.

Get ready for the ELA Mock Regents on December 6th starting at 3rd period. Consult with your English Teacher and School Counselor if you are taking the ELA Mock Regents.
The WHOLE SCHOOL will have a Thanksgiving Color Day on Wednesday, November 27th. All students are encouraged to participate to in this event. Our Senior Council will charge all participants $1 in CASH at the door to help raise funds for the Senior Council. The students will follow a regular schedule and there will be no afterschool activities, except for PSAL Practice.

Regular classes resumes today, November 22nd. The Seniors will have their Jersey Day Color Day today (SENIORS ONLY). Selected students in the Aviation classes will also have a trip today to Dutchess County, the bus will leave at 8:00AM.
